A month (and a wee bit) to go: programme preview!

posted in: Uncategorised | 0

With just over a month to go, we thought it’s about time to let everyone in on what we have lined up for SUFF this year.

Evening – Welcome Session. Come join us to say hello and start the weekend off as it means to go on – with tunes till the wee hours! (Free and unticketed!)

Morning – Arthur’s Seat Climb/Session. See the city from one of its most spectacular view points! Weather permitting, there’ll be tunes at the top! (Free and unticketed!)
Afternoon – Workshops. Join us for a trio of workshops traversing folk music. Dallahan will be joining us for one of these to take you through your tune paces! (Workshops £3/£3/£5 individually, or come to all three for £10! Tickets on the door.)
(Early) Evening – Dinner. All these tunes need some serious sustenance; and that’s before you’ve danced the night away! (Individuals buy own dinner, ~£10.)
Evening – Ceilidh. Ceilidh with the Edinburgh University Folk Soc Ceilidh Band. Time to Strip some Willow and Dash some White Sergeants. (£8. Tickets on the door.)

Morning – Breakfast. All that dancing might leave you feeling in need. Join us in the famous Snax Café for a proper fried revival. (Individuals buy own breakfast, £2-£8.)
(Later) Morning – Farewell Session. A final bout of tunes to send you on your way. Old favourites as well as tunes from Saturday’s workshops! (Free and unticketed!)

We’re getting so excited, and now you know why!

SUFF Facebook Event!

posted in: Uncategorised | 0

The date is drawing nearer, and with October a month away now we thought it was time to make a Facebook event page for SUFF. We’d love it if you clicked ‘attending:’ it helps us spread the word, and hopefully attract even more people to our growing festival! Along those lines – please invite everyone who might be interested too! More people = bigger sessions = better SUFF!

We’ll post important updates on the event page so that you don’t miss out on information. As ever, these can also be found on our regular Facebook page, Twitter feed and will be sent out via our newsletter.

Hope to see you (and your friends!) on Facebook; in preparation for meeting everyone in October!

SUFF Website Launches!

posted in: Uncategorised | 0

Today’s a busy day for SUFF! We’re launching a brand new website and shiny new mailing system, designed to help you get all the SUFF information you need in an easily accessible place. We’ve got sections for SUFF ’16, information about SUFF’s history, pages to reminisce last year’s festival, and a new blog for sharing news.

We’re also launching a new mailing system – if you subscribed to our old list, you’ll quickly see the improvements in graphics and hyperlinks! You can sign up on our newsletter page to get updates straight to your inbox. We don’t think it’s fair to copy anybody’s details automatically, so if you were an old subscriber please re-enter your details to make sure you’re on the mailing list!

We’ll also continuing announcing news on our Facebook page and Twitter feed: we love a like and are sure our updates in the next few weeks will be share-worthy!

As our website is just beginning, we’d love to hear your feedback. Please email sufolkfest@gmail.com if you have any comments and we’ll take them on board in the website’s development!

See you in October!
